Caron Chalmers, an empath who sees and feels what victims do, knows a child is in danger, but no one believes her. Parker Simms, a private investigator, knows Caron is a fraud and is determined to prove it. A year ago, Caron read the signs wrong and a victim died. Her “gift” shut down. Now it’s back, and because of that error, the police no longer trust Caron. They recruit Parker and, in a hostile alliance, he and Caron seek the truth and discover a labyrinth of lies and deceptions that require skills they have and trust they don’t but must find before the child is lost.
